    By the mid-1950s, Forney had bought the rights to manufacture the Ercoupe. They upgraded the engine to the C-90 and replaced the fabric on the wings with metal and added a bubble windshield. This April 1957 ad in flying magazine announced the new F-1 model and offered to customize "your older Ercoupe."
